After only one season, producers have decided to kick The Real Housewives of Chicago off the El and off the air. The spinoff reality show gained a moderate amount of success following in the steps of the other Housewives series. But, after finding out that the majority of the housewives turned out to live in The Village of Schaumburg, viewership quickly dropped.

Chicagoans were excited to see themselves up on the small screen, but were disappointed to see that the majority of the show took place on the train into the city. The drama was as spicy as giardineria and rivaled RHONY at some points, but launching wine from a plastic wineglass across the aisle of the Metra cut a lot of the tension.

“We got a lot of complaints about the ‘plot’ of the show,” says executive producer Martin Walsh. “A lot of fans didn’t like that they spent a lot of time at the IKEA and Legoland Discovery Center. The moment we all knew it was over was when Pat DiGilio ordered a “three hundred and twelve beer” at Medieval Times.”

The show may be over for the stars of RHOC, but they’re anything but done. When reached for comment about the show, representatives for Ms. Diligio said, “Pat is very disheartened by the cancellation of RHOC, but she’s excited to keep moving forward. With the help of her very good friends the Pritzkers, she’ll be producing a concert series featuring her daughter on the oboe at their venue in Millennium Park. She also just announced a signature fragrance based on that chocolatey smell that wafts over the downtown.”
